Springfield Ramblers 3-1 Park Utd
Tony Girasole saluted Jack McCarthy after he scored a magnificent treble to earn the Rams a place in the next round. Boss Girasole said: “I’m so pleased for Jack. He’s stepped up a level from the U17’s and gives you absolutely nothing less than 100 per cent. ” He was massive for us today. Everything bouncing around in the opponents half, he would have tackled with his head.”

McCarthy opened the scoring with a sublime finish following excellent interplay with George Keating. He put the Rams further ahead with a delicate finish on 55 mins before wrapping up a highly impressive victory ten mins later with a pulverising finish.
Best on the day were debutants Cathal Roche, Conor Murray and MOTM Jack McCarthy.

Goal scorers Jordan o Mahony 1 Jack Mccarthy 2. Special mention to Michael McCall Walsh who pulled off a double penalty save and a world class save from a long distance shot. U13 DIVISION 6
Springfield Ramblers A 5-1 Carrigaline United B
Our good start to the season continued Today with a well-deserved win over Carrigaline. It was especially pleasing as this same opposition had beaten us well last year and it’s great to see the improvements made since last season.
A bright opening saw Sultan “Aguero” Adebeyo get his reward after a few early chances went astray. In fact he was to finish the game 4 in total.
The fifth goal was a cracking half volley to the roof of the net from the aptly named Ben “the postman” Kennedy (always delivers).

His siblings, Jake ” Courtois” Kenndy who was superb between the sticks (only a minute away from a clean sheet, net time Jake) and Sam “sanchez”Kennedy who gave a Sorrento’s sponsored man of the match display, tirelessly working hard in midfield where he was ably assisted by Charlie “CR7” O’Regan , Cian “Januzi”Tobin, Darragh “Santi” O’Regan and Today’s match day captain Liam”Lallana” O’Flaherty.
Solid defending from Conor ” Khediara” Kidney and Tigerish tackling from Patrick “Pepe” Roche ensured that Carrigaline rarely threatened.
On wards and upwards. Well done lads.

CASTLEVIEW 1-3 SPRINGFIELD RAMBLERS
Springers picked up a fantastic 3pts in this very physical game but yet again at a huge cost with Colin Lane breaking his wrist in a heavy challenge. They started off at a high pace and played some fantastic football and took the lead through Jamie Kelly with a shot from outside the box. A rare lapse in concentration left Castleview back in the game and they took their goal well. Springers upped the pace again and from here on it was one way traffic and deservedly took the lead with a fantastic shot from Ciaran Griffen. The game was sealed with a Brian Danaj header from a great corner from Ciaran Griffen. Kieran Allen in midfield had a great game for Springers and was assisted by PJ O Regan in goal Jamie Kelly in midfield and Mark Canty in defence.

Springfield Ramblers 4-1 Passage
Yesterday the girls played their second game of the season and followed their winning form by beating Passage 4 1. This was a very tight contest in the first half but in the second half the girls rallied together and after some brilliant individual skill the goals were a plenty with Martha Gomez scoring two goals and both mia and saoirse getting a goal apiece each again !! A penalty for passage in the last minute of the game saw them claw one goal back
Best on the day Martha Gomez , Robyn O’Sullivan and Aine Griffin
