Friday 6th September
U17 League Cup
Springfield Ramblers 0-2 Fermoy
The lads suffered their first defeat of the season against a very strong Fermoy side. All in all a solid performance from the lads. With a bit more composure in front of goals the result could have been different. Man of the match. Darren McKevitt.
Saturday 7th September
Under 18 Youth League
Carrigaline Utd 1-1 Springfield Ramblers
Less than 48 hours later the lads were away again to Carrigaline football club. Again the score was a one all draw. Conor Hughes scoring with a fine shot. Special mention must go to Dylan Higgins who played in goal for the first time as our regular keeper was away on holidays. Dylan had fine game in goal and was well protected by the back four of Dominic Roche, Conor Hughes, Niall Abbott and man of the match Jonny Gardner. In the two games the lads have shown great team spirit and are really putting in a lot of hard work in training. This is a new team that have never played together and over time we think they will do really well. Home games on Saturday in Pat O Brien park.
Under 13 Premier
Lakewood Athletic 4-2 Springfield Ramblers
Although Lakewood won the game the performance of our team was excellent and if the lads keep that up then they will win more than they will lose. Best on day Alex lynch.
Under 15 Premier
Springfield Ramblers 2-4 Greenwood
Sunday 6th September
Under 12 Division 4
Cobh Ramblers 3-5 Bandon
First match of the season, after a slow start ramblers found themselves 4-1 down at half time, our only goal was created by Conor Corcoran and scored by Donagh McNamara. The team came out in the second half, and created lots of chances and yet found themselves 5-1 down. They never gave up, and continued to create chance after chance and duly got the goal they deserved ;scored by John McCarthy. They continued to dominate and scored a third through Mikolaj Kania, which made for a very exciting finish to the game. Unfortunately, time ran out and the game finished 5-3. It was a great team performance inspired by Malick from the centre of defence.
Under 12 Premier
Douglas Hall 4-1 Springfield Ramblers
A good performance on the day despite the score of 4-1. Jamie, Mia, Jay playing very well on the day and Danny getting on the score sheet.
Under 14 Division 1
Avondale United 3-2 Springfield Ramblers
This was a hard match for the team today who put in a very good performance.
Under 14 Divison 4
Kinsale 5-3 Springfield Ramblers A
Under 16 Premier
Springfield Ramblers 0-2 St Marys
A game that could have gone either way in the first half. Cobh steeped up from their performance from last week and created the better chances overall that on another day would have come off. A win is just around the corner for sure. Best performers on the day Anthony Otokiti, Keelan Lee, and Sean Damery
Under 17 Youth League
Fermoy 2 Springfield Ramblers 1.
Scorer: Jack Mccarthy.
