Under 11 Local Cup
Springfield Ramblers 3 v Fermoy 2
This was a great performance from the young side who are showing improvement week to week. All played well against a strong wind in the first half and had Springfield remained on top for the majority of the game despite conceding two sloppy goals. Man of the Match Danny got a hatrick and created great chances throughout the game. Thanks to all who came and supported the boys as always. Best on the day Danny, Cormac, Luka and Dave.

U14 Division 3
Springfield 9 v Ringmahon 3
Springfield dominated this game from the start and were three up within 10 minutes. At the break they were leading 5-1. They continued the scoring in the second half to run out very comfortable winners in the end. All the goals came from Brian Danaj FIVE, Kyle Fermedge Three and Colin Lane. This was done while playing the game with only 10 players. All lads present on the day were outstanding and deserve great credit.

Under 13 Division 1
Greenwood 0-2 Springfield Ramblers.
Great team performance and excellent goals from Tom Noonan and Kevin Foster O Reilly, up to third in table, thanks to supporters as always.

Under 14 Division 5
Springfield Ramblers 3 v St Mary’s 1
Unusual for the team this season they started very slowly and were a goal down after two minutes. A cross from the left and some confusion in defence allowed St Mary’s to bundle the ball over the line for the early lead. Springfield rallied and threatened the St Mary’s goal before Alex O’Mahoney made a run from the left and curled his shot around the oncoming keeper. St Mary’s came back at Springfield and were unlucky not to retake the lead when a fine shot from the edge of the area hit the post and ran across the open goal. Springfield took the lead when a corner headed down by Rhys Welham was struck well past the keeper for Alex O’Mahoney’s second. The remainder of the first half remained even with both sides having chances but finished 2-1 to Springfield.
The second half was a much more one sided affair as Springfield started to dominated. Great pressure from Springfield’s front pair of Marc Jones and Alex O’Mahoney never let the St Mary’s defence settle and the Springfield defence led by Shane Kelsal dealt ably with any threats. After several near misses including hitting the bar, it was once again Alex O’Mahoney who latched on to a through ball and finish his hat trick to give Springfield a 3-1 lead. Springfield finished strong and their lead was rarely threatened.

Great team performance with special mention to Shane Kelsal and Rowland Nsubuga in defence and joint Man of the Match to Alex O’Mahoney and Sam Bourke who covered every blade of grass on the pitch. Thanks to all the family and friends for the great support once again.

U14 local cup
Springfield 4 Buttevant 1
A good display from Springfield in tough conditions. First goal was a superb team goal expertly finished by Nathan O Connell. Buttevant scored in the first minute of second half. Springfield found a second gear and a few minutes later Ciaran Griffin got himself on the score sheet with a slick finish from a cross. Dara O Connell earned us a penalty which was tucked away by captain Mikey Foley. Evan O Leary got a well-deserved goal in the last minute to make it 4. Well done to all.
