Umbro 13 Division 5
Springfield Ramblers A 2-0 Passage United
U14 National Cup
Cherry Orchard 6-0 Springfield Ramblers
The scoreline doesn’t reflect the trojan effort the boys put into today’s game. Despite going 2-0 down within the first few minutes the boys got the upper hand of this unbeaten Dublin side with Darragh and Tom bothering the Cherry Orchard players on the left wing. Cherry Orchard kept attacking but were stopped by Cian Walker and Cian O Rourke who weren’t afraid to put in some tough tackles against this physical side.
Springfield came close to scoring with Mickey’s suberb free kick going narrowly wide. As the second half started Cherry Orchard stepped it up another gear and took over the game but the boys kept fighting on with Emeka picking out some lovely passes in attempt to push the team forward.
The boys did themselves and the club proud and fought on until the final whistle. The club would like to thank Cherry Orchard for providing food and drinks after the game and wish them the best for the rest of the competition.
Best on the day Cian O Rourke, Cian Walker, Eoin Kelly and Emeka.

Under 12 Premier
Avondale United 0-4 Springfield Ramblers
Folllowing last weeks disappointing exit from the local cup, the push was on rams to bounce back. And bounce back they did. Despite a shaky opening 10 mins, rams took charge. Avondale playing a high back four suited, rams game style and a through ball to Jake Ryan gave them the opening goal after 15 mins followed by another by after 25. Clearly on top of his game today Jake put two more in, in the second half.
But this was a game being played collectively by the team and the team effort and hard work in all areas allowed us the scoring chances. Avondale were never really allowed back in. A fantastic display by the lads especially with 4 of the lads playing out of their normal positions. Thanks to Colin and Ryan for helping us out on the day.
