Douglas Hall 0-1 Springfield Ramblers
In a very sporting game where emphasis was on development of skill both teams played some excellent football throughout the game. In the early part of the game Springfield Ramblers defence of Joe, Jamie and Conor dealt with any threat the home team had by excellent cover play and use of the ball. With Ryan and Danny dominating midfield Springfield Ramblers started creating chances with excellent wing play from Luka and Luke. After 15minutes Fionn was put clear by Ryan and was unlucky not to score. In the second half Springfield Ramblers made changes to ensure all players get game time to encourage development and it was great to see Colin return after injury. With Danny and Mia playing excellent football in midfield a great through ball to Adam saw him beat the home keeper. As the half progress the forwards of Springfield Ramblers Adam, Colin and Donagh kept the home team under pressure and were unlucky not to increase the lead. When Douglas Hall threatened our goal the excellent Cormac made three top class saves. As the game entered the last quarter our defence of David, Jae and Man of the Match Jamie proved the key to our success plus the work rate of the two Adams. In what proved to be a great team performance best on the day were Joe, Conor, Danny, Cormac and Jamie

Springfield Ramblers 3-1 Greenwood
A great performance by the lads against a good Greenwood side. 0-0 at half time playing up the hill, the lads played some great football in the second half. Great Goals by Kevin, Kane and Tom Noonan, 4 league wins in a row, we are getting dizzy….

St Marys 5-2 Springfield Ramblers
A very competitive first half that saw Cobh fighting back from two goals down in the first half but the game swung on forced change to keeper Alex Costello at half time. Corey Griffin stepped up for the team but with it the team lost it’s cutting edge up front.
A depleted Cobh team missing three key players from injury; tried bravely to get a result but the home team sat back and picked us off on the counter attack to run out winners. Goals by Anthony Otokiti & Corey Griffin. Best for Cobh Sam Noonan Corey Griffin & Anthony Otikiti.

Avondale United A 6-0 Springfield Ramblers A
Next up for the Crazy gang was an away trip to high flying Avondale Utd.
Jake ‘Cech’ Kennedy was at his high flying best in goal. The back four of Darragh Ozil O’Regan, Ronan ‘Ramos’ O’Connor, Dion ‘Di Maria’ Griffin and Luke ‘Modric’ Ahern defended heroically. In midfield Paul ‘Messi’ Murphy, Sean ‘Real Deal’ Devlin and Sam ‘Nasri’ Kennedy defied the laws of physics with the amount of energy they produced. While forwards Jake ‘Suarez’ Sawani, Killian ‘Sanchez’ O’Connell and Fionn ‘The Showman’ Dolan caused lots of problems up front. We started well and were the better team in the early stages but then we donated a few charity goals just before half time and this seemed to knock our confidence a little.

As part of our FIFA fair play rotation policy, on came Max ‘Gladiator’ Devlin and Ben’ando Torres’ Kennedy at half time and they ran their socks off for their team in the second half. Even though the teams were very even, Avondale were a little more street wise and made that tell with some more goals in the second half. True to form, the crazy gang gave everything. So the coaches take full responsibility for this one. We have the best of players and the best of characters. We just need to figure out how to get that best out of everyone and then we’ll soar. The Sorrentos sponsored man of the match today was ‘Messi’ Murphy and he was presented with his Tiki Taco Fries by captain ‘Ozil’ O’Regan

Springfield Ramblers 1-3 Greenwood
The score line doesn’t reflect the match. A one goal lead at half time but 3 sloppy goals gave us a mountain to climb. To be fair the lads they finished the stronger team after a couple of substitutions were made but the Greenwood keeper was in top form. Best on day Nathan o Connell, Diarmuid Kearney and Lewis Wealan.

St Marys A 3-2 Springfield Ramblers B
For the fourth time this season Springfield were on the wrong side of single goal defeat. Again like all the other game Springfield came out quickly and scored the first goal after 15mins. Some good work in midfield released Killian O’Connell down the wing who played the ball into Sam Bourke who finished calmly for his first goal for Springfield. St Mary’s came more into the game and levelled before half time.
Again in the second half Springfield came out quickly and Shane Kelsall did well to turn in a corner from Marc Jones to regain the lead 5mins in. The match was evenly contested for the next 20mins but it was St Mary’s who equalised with a fine free kick which the keeper could do nothing to keep out. With their tails up St Mary’s chased the winner and with two minutes to go were awarded a penalty which was dispatched past the Springfield keeper. Springfield had one last chance as Rhys Welham did well to get on the end of a Marc Jones free kick but a defender manager to deflect it narrowly wide. So another disappointing one goal defeat but the lads again gave great entertainment to all the supporters and with some more clinical finishing and a little slice of luck will soon turn things around. Good performances on the day by Shane Kelsall, Killian O’Connell and best on the day Sam Bourke. Thanks to all who travelled to support the team.
