Springfield Ramblers (3) vs Temple United (1)
A great performance by the lads today resulting in a well-deserved victory. Back four led by the faultless captain Kieran Long and excellent Ben Kelleher kept the opposition’s forward line quite all day. Our midfield dominated play, and our forwards worked tirelessly throughout. Goals by Howard Murphy and two by man of the match Tom Noonan.

Tramore Athletic (0) vs Springfield Ramblers A (2)
Springers started the game at a very high tempo and totally dominated Tramore from the start. Down the left side with Mark Canty and Man of the Match Kyle Fermidge tormenting the Tramorer defence with some great attacking play. Colin Lane and Jamie Kelly in midfield kept probing the Tramore defence with some great through balls. Up front Brian Danaj and Luke Hamilton kept the defence on their toes. When Tramore got into the Springers half they could not break down an excellent defence with Evan Roache, Keelan Ryan and Kieran Allen rock solid. Springers got the first goal after a fast ball out from Adam Stanton to PJ O Regan who beat his man and put in a great cross for Danaj to put in the net. O Regan got the second after another through ball from Colin Lane. This was a fantastic team performance from the twelve lads that were there today and we should build on this for the rest of the season.

Springfield Ramblers B (2) vs Churchvilla (1)
With the second match in two days the lads had no time to lick the wounds of the earlier defeat. Again the team came out of the blocks early and put a lot or pressure on the travelling team. With Alex O’Mahoney causing the defence all sorts of trouble it was only fitting for him to score the first goal after some fine play in midfield from Cian Doherty and Ger Devlin. As the half continued Springfield dominated hitting the post twice and creating several more chances however the half ended 1-0. As with so many games this season Springfield lost concentration early in the second half and allowed Churchvilla in for the equaliser. Springfield again came back into the game and created numerous chances. It was just as everyone believed it would not be Springfield’s day that Alex O’Mahoney and Ger Devlin combined well together to make space and allow Ger to shoot beyond the keeper. It was then Churchvilla’s turn to put pressure on the Springfield defence finally winning a penalty with a minute to go. However the penalty was shot wide and to the relief of players and fans alike Springfield closed out the game for a deserved first win.

Great performances all over the pitch with special mention to Cian Donnachie, Killian O’Connell and Alex O’Mahoney but for the second game in a row best on the day was Ger Devlin who scored the winner to cap a fine performance.

Goals Luqman 2. Best for Cobh Anthony Otokiti, Corey Griffin, Luqman.
Some positive performances to take from the match but sometimes you can learn more about the team and yourself from defeat. Next match in the Cup v Lakewood (h)

Under 12 Girls
Passage v Springfield Ramblers
The girls u12 made their league debut today. It was truly a game of ” TWO HALVEs” .. An experienced passage side scored their goals in the first few minutes and this was a real nervous beginning for the Cobh girls. However , as the nerves settled and a few positional changes the Springfield girls finished the half playing with great confidence. This continued in the second half and passage found it very hard to break down the Cobh defence like they did in the first half. Superb play from the midfielders and the strikers meant that Cobh were moving the ball quicker and came close on many occasions in the second half to score only to be denied by the passage keeper.. The club are very proud of the girl’s first performance.

Springfield Ramblers A vs Blarney United A
Alex ‘Capn’ Kirk was safe as houses in goal, while defenders Partick ‘Pepe’ Roche, Ronan ‘Ramos’ O’Connor, Dion ‘Di Maria’ Griffin and Daniel ‘Agger’ O’Sullivan were tigerish in defence. In midfield Paul ‘Messi’ Murphy, Brian ‘Dynamo’ Dwyer and Sean ‘Real Deal’ Devlin got the craft / graft balance just right while up front Fionn ‘The Showman’ Dolan, Sultan ‘Aguero’ Adebayo and Cian ‘Januzaj’ Tobin scared the living daylights out of the visitors with their lightning fast attacks.

The young Rams are nicely developing into a team that fights hard for each other and that was evident again today. Unlucky not to score from a hat full of first half chances, the game remained scoreless at half time. Our FIFA fair play system saw Josh Griffiniesta, Luke ‘Modric’ Ahern, Conor ‘Yaya’ McNamara and Jake ‘Suarez’ Sawani enter the fray at half time and unleash a dazzling array of skills.

Early in the second half we were unlucky when a penalty was awarded against us. ‘Capn’ Kirk made a stunning save from the kick but we were so busy congratulating him that we didn’t see the Blarney player run up and score with the rebound. This little setback just seemed to rile the crazy gang however and it was like the siege of Ennis for the remainder of the game as we pummelled the visitors goal. It looked like we were going to get the equaliser right at the death as we hit the post and then narrowly screwed a shot wide with the goal at our mercy, but it was not to be.
So another display to be proud of by the lads and everyone went home optimistic of a bright future.
The Sorrentos sponsored man of the match was Partick ‘Pepe’ Roche and he was presented with his Tiki Taco Fries by captain fantastic Brian ‘Dynamo’ Dwyer.

Springfield Ramblers (1) vs Riverstown (2)
Hard fought battle between two teams with very little between them. Srams only really came alive in the last 20 mins and very unlucky not to equalise in last 5 mins. Peter Ziga scored for Springfield Ramblers.
