Cobh Pirates News
Massive well done to all participants on last Saturday’s Cycle Fundraiser for the Juvenile Section…Next outing is the Galtee Twin Peaks Challenge on Sunday Sept 14th. Your continued support is very much appreciated and valued. Special mention to cycle organisers – Richie McGrath, Ken McNamara and Dion McKeown; along with the mums who provided the support cars on the day.
LADIES SECTION
Cobh Pirates Ladies are delighted that former Ireland & Munster Ladies coach has given his time and coaching expertise for their pre-season at PIRATES RFC! Alongside Bobby Anglim, this dynamic duo are sure to get fantastic results out of our senior Ladies this year, who narrowly missed a spot in Third Division finals last year. A team struggling for numbers most of last season, we are hoping to turn that around this year and recruit many new players. If you know anyone 18 and over who may be interested, please let them know, share this post and invite them to training.
CONGRATULATIONS TO STEPHEN HICKEY
Congrats and well done to Stephen Hickey…on making his Munster u19 debut at the Mardyke, Cork, recently against the Irish Exiles. Everyone at Cobh Pirates RFC is so proud of you Steve.
TOM KEVANY – CLUB CAPTAIN FOR 2014/15 SEASON
Tom Kevany has been selected as Club Captain for season 2014/15. This is a big season for Pirates’ as the Club will celebrate our 125th anniversary in 2015 ! Tom is a great Club man, having played from the youth system into the adult section and along the way claiming representative rugby with the Munster Junior team. We wish Tom and the players every success for the coming season.
