Cobh Pirates RFC recently hosted the annual Munster Rugby Summer camp, with a now yearly growing number of children in attendance. The camp got off to a great start on Monday morning when the 6 Nations trophy was brought along by the camp administrators much to the delight of all the kids. As the week progressed so did the anticipation of the visit by some of the Munster squad members which arrived on Wednesday. Billy Holland, John Ryan and Sean Dougall took time out to make a visit, having question and answer sessions with the kids before signing all their shirts and posing for photos. The sheer professionalism and down to earth approach by the players shone through when the questions asked by the enthusiastic kids ranged from personal ambitions, numerous rugby related questions to how long does it take Paul O’Connell to put on all his tape.

This non contact rugby is ideal for both beginners and regular players alike and caters for children of all ages, and the club would love to see all the regular club members along with new players. Registration for the 2014/15 season for all the kids in the mini rugby section will take place also in the clubhouse on Saturday 30th Aug at 1.30pm.
