STEP Cobh Graduation 2014

stepTrainees from Cobh YMCA STEP programme graduated on Friday 11th July after completing a year long course. All received a full FETAC Level 4 award. They were joined by a large group of family and friends. The trainees showcased some of their work completed as part of the Digital Media Technology component. They studied the use of social media and made a number of films – a drama, a comedy, an animation and a video compilation of their activities throughout the year which included snorkelling in Lough Hyne, zorbing and climbing in the Glen resource centre, walking part of the Sheep’s Head Way and organizing a number of fund-raising events.

Trainees who graduated will be going onto further studies including software engineering in St John’s College, Youth work in Cork College of Commerce and some will be entering the workplace.

STEP now recruiting for September 2014 intake
STEP is a 42 week full-time course for 17-25 Year olds running from September to July
Content— a Full FETAC Level 4 Award with components in: Digital Media Technology, Communications,
Work Experience , Career Planning Customer Service , Maths, New ECDL and Team-working (Inc. Personal Development) Preference is given to those without Leaving Cert or stable employment
