ausflagCobh Tourism and See You in Cobh will be pulling out all the stops to welcome the 2000 passengers on board a cruise ship arriving from Sydney on Tuesday 15th July by staging the fourth Australia Day in Cobh in their honour.

Of the 2000 passengers on board over 1500 are Australians and 300 are Kiwis enjoying a 104 night world cruise. We are hoping that the atmosphere created by Food and craft stalls, entertainment including the Band of 1 Southern Brigade, Irish dancers, fiddle players and other traditional musicians, bunting and flag sellers will be complemented by spectacular shop window displays. We will deliver an Australian banner/flag to all shops in Cobh in early July and ask that all shops use imagination and anything Australian to make shop window displays that will be enjoyed by passengers and locals.

At 11 am in Cobh Heritage Centre, there will be a Blessing of the Bonnets ceremony in memory of all convict women transported to Australia. The Dawn Princess is scheduled to sail at 4 pm to continue its journey around the world.
