Swinging Sundays in Cobh

linerThere is an absolute host of musical entertainment to enjoy in Cobh this summer. On Sunday 1st June Pipe Bands from all over the south of Ireland will converge on Cobh for the SOUTH OF IRELAND PIPING & DRUMMING CONTEST. The competition will commence at 12 noon with the bands judged on piping, drumming and uniform, with a parade of bands from the old Town Hall at 5pm to the Luisitania Monument.

On 8th June the Dust Buster Light Orchestra return to play the second of their series of three summer concerts in Cobh with their superb and varied selection of music from film and TV, Pop tunes and waltzes that we all know and love..

On 15th June the 40 piece German Brass Band Musikverein Börstingen will perform at the 12 noon Mass at St. Colman’s Cathedral. This will be followed by a performance of Polkas, Marches and modern favourites on the bandstand in the Promenade at 2.30 pm. The performance will take place in the Heritage Centre if the weather is unfavourable. The Summer Swing series of markets and free entertainment also continues throughout the summer to coincide with visiting Cruise Liners. The dates include 2nd June, 4th August, 10th August and 16th/17th August.
