Well Done to Kieran Histon
Cobh GAA would like to congratulate Kieran Histon for his part in the Cork U21 Football Championship campaign which unfortunately came to an end with a one point loss against Roscommon in the All Ireland Semi-final. Kieran played a large part in this campaign playing at half back in two of the games in his first year out of minor/U18. He continues to represent his club and town playing senior football championship with UCC and playing senior hurling championship along with clubmate Lee Murphy with Imokilly.
Junior Football Championship
Cobh lost in the 1st round of the East Cork Junior Football Championship to a strong Erins Own side. Cobh played into a very strong wind in the first half which Erins own capitalised on to lead 1-06 to 0-03 at the break. The second half proved to be a more even contest with both teams scoring 4 points. Cobh were unlucky when Martin Carroll shot for goal but the ball hit the crossbar and went over for a point, with a final scoreline of 0-07 to 1-10. Cobh now go on to play St. Catherines in the next round.
