Glounthaune United (0) v Springfield Ramblers (7)

Roy Keane 13 Premier
Carrigaline United (0) v Springfield Ramblers(0)
A draw was a fair result here with both teams having good spells of possession but never really testing the keeper. Carrigaline finished the stronger team but our defence held firm. While there was great work rate from Ciaran Griffin Emecka and Diarmuid best on day Cian O Rourke Tom Gill.

Umbro 13 Division 2
Springfield Ramblers A (2) v Everton (2)
Springfield started this game at a very high tempo and went ahead through a spot kick from Jamie Kelly. Everton came back into the game but the Springers rear-guard stood strong. Everton got the equaliser just before half time and finished the half the stronger team. The second half began like the first half finished with Everton on top. Springers then took control of the game and really created all the chances with the Everton keeper kept busy. Everton got their second with 10 mins to go. To their credit Springers pushed on and bombarded the Everton goal with chance after chance and they got their reward with another finish from Jamie Kelly. They kept pushing forward and could have got the winner they would have deserved. The whole squad on the day deserve great credit for the way in which they played. Well done to all.

Umbro 13 Division 5
Springfield Ramblers B (2) v Carrigtwohill United (7)
Umbro 11 Division 3
Riverstown A (1)v Springfield Ramblers A(0)
Looking at the jerseys, you would have been forgiven for thinking this was a rerun of last season’s champions league final, but there were far better players on show today. The game was very even but the Rams played by far the better football and some good work on the training pitch is starting to bear fruit.

In defence Luke Modric Ahern was a rock and the lads cleared all before them. In midfield Sam Nasri Kennedy and Darragh Ozil Regan worked their socks off, while Sultan Aguero Adebayo was a menace up front. Riverstown scored a fortunate goal with the last kick of the first half in what was to be a killer blow. But it took nothing out of these young lionhearts and they gave everything for their team.

A fabulous reverse pass by Eoin Keano Curry almost put Ozil in and Agureo hit a thunderbolt off the crossbar, but we just couldn’t find that elusive goal. Many players gave their best performance of the season today but David Beckham Julius is chosen as the Aunty Nellies man of the match.

So great encouragement taken from today’s display….the only blues being rinses from yesterdays Shave or Dye fundraiser : )

Umbro 12 Premier
Leeds (0) v Springfield Ramblers (0)
Leeds started very well and put pressure on our defence early on in the game, but Ramblers held on and got control on the game. Both teams had chances in the first half but for good goalkeeping the sides came off at halftime level at nil all. Ramblers took the game to Leeds in the second half and played some good football and kept Leeds in their own half for most of the second half. We had some great opportunities and shots from Kieran Long, Fionn Duggan and Dean O Leary on another day might have won us the game. Our midfield put some great balls through and our defence pushed up as well and stopped Leeds from playing. We had some good displays from Dean O Leary on the wing, Tony Lynch on goal and Josh Crone and David Sloane in the heart of defence. The game finished Scoreless but we came off the pitch with our heads held high.

Umbro 15 Division 4
Carrigtwohill United (1) v Cobh Ramblers (1)
The lads maintained their unbeaten league form with a hard fought point in this local derby. The lads played the better football and probably deserved the three points. Scorer Aaron dolan. Best for Cobh Andrew Allen.

Under 15 Premier
Wilton (2) v Springfield Ramblers (0)
S/R’s under 15s travelled to Wilton last Saturday and despite top performance from Eoin De Barra, Alex Ryan, and captain Evan O Mahony went down 2.0 to last year’s double winner’s.
Umbro 12 Division 5
Springfield Ramblers B (7) v Riverstown A (0)
Scorers were John Breen, Matthew Khan-Moss, Evan Scannell, Evan Murphy, and Adam Donnachie. A first half super performance from John Breen set the home side on their way. After missing an open goal, Evan Murphy added another when the Riverstown keeper kicked the ball directly to him from a goal-kick and he fired home from 25 yards. Matthew came on as a sub at half time and scored the first goal of the 2nd half. Evan Scannell smashed a 20 yard strike into the top corner leaving the keeper with no hope. Adam Donnachie scored the brilliant goal after he tackled a Riverstown defender and smashed the ball high into the roof of the net after travelling through the Riverstown half unchallenged. Best on the day for Cobh were Jordan Dunphy, Emmett Duvane, Jack Hallahan and Man of the Match goes to John Breen.

Umbro 14 Division 2
Wilton United (1) v Springfield Ramblers (1)
After taking the early first half lead through Corey Griffin the team had great chances to go further ahead. Second half Wilton got an early equaliser from a corner and came back into the game. Both teams came close for the decisive winner but a draw left honours even.
