“Trios from the Romantics”at Fota House

On Wednesday, 5th May at 8.00 p.m. a newly formed Trio comprising Rachel Deloughry, (Clarinet), Hugh McCarthy (Cello) and Viktoriya Anastasova will give their inaugural Recital of Chamber Music at Fota House.

They will perform Beethoven’s “Gassenhauer” Trio as well as Brahm’s Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano. Rachel Deloughry (Clarinet) was born in Cork and started learning the clarinet at the age of eleven. Having graduated as a Bachelor of Music at the Cork School of Music, she is now studying her Masters of Music at the Utrechts Conservatorium with Harrie Troquet, clarinettist in the Netherlands Philharmonic.

Hugh McCarthy (Cello) holds both a Master of Arts degree in Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cork School of Music and is involved in a wide variety of musical activities in Ireland as well as a member of several chamber groups and orchestras, touring the East Coast of the States and many European countries. Hugh lectures in Music at the Cork School of Music and the CIT.

Viktoriya Anastasova (Piano) was born in Bulgaria where she began to play the piano as a five-year-old. In 2005 Viktoriya moved to the Netherlands to study at the Prince Clause Conservatory in Groningen with Paul Komen. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree in 2009 and is now studying for her Master of Degree at Utrechts Conservatory. Viktoriya is supported by Labberte-Hoedemaker Foundation.

For all lovers of Chamber Music, this is an evening not to be missed and a complimentary glass of wine will be served at the Interval.
