camogie-crest400x4001Our Minors make it 3/3 on Sunday last in ladysbridge where a lacklustre 1st half saw them trailing 1.03 to no score, in a game of two halves, driven on by another stellar performance by our back line, Aggie Douglas started bossing midfield which allowed Erica Field and Kate Ronan dominate and give great supply to Katelynn Quinlan who duly obliged, we ran out clear winners in the end. The previous game away to  Mallow again saw our backs dominate, driven on by Nicola O Sullivan and fabulous forward play by both Ellen Spriggs and Megan Foley saw our girls win on a scoreline of 2.04 to 1.02. Keep up the good work.

Contrast this to our U14’s who have lost both of their opening league games, first up home to Tracton where we started well, notching up 1.01 but the Tracton girls soon took the game to us and although we were matching them on scores they were getting the goals where we were knocking over points, in the end it was 10.0 to 5.04. Next up we were away to Brian Dillons on a bitterly cold and wet tank field, in fairness our girls put up a good first half performance but with the wind at our backs we didn’t take full advantage and paid the price in the second half, couple this with a fantastic display by the Dillons keeper. Losing 5.01 to 1.01. best for our U14’s over the two games were Emma Moran, Ellen Meaney, Ellen Stafford and Shannid McGrath and Sophie Maher.

Well done to all who took part in the sponsored walk on Sunday.

Juniors on their own quest for 3 wins on the bounce are away to Ballincollig Monday 29th at 7pm
