Notice: Springfield Ramblers Playing Pitches at VEC Grounds

Published

on

The Springfield Ramblers Schoolboys Football Club asks all the public who use the VEC grounds (Tech Field) for recreational purposes to remember that this field is the main playing pitch for the Club. Each weekend the coaches and training staff of the club have to walk the pitch to remove dog droppings, broken glass and other objects from the pitch before games commence on the pitch. The public should take into account that young children are playing on the pitch each weekend and on week nights as the weather improves. The health implications are obvious as children fall and slide around during games. Cuts and bruises are common place in football matches and one of these could easily become infected from dog droppings. People are required by law to pick up droppings from their dogs while walking them. The club would ask that the public would walk their dogs on the track around the pitch rather than on the playing surface. Please think of the children before you walk your dog on these grounds.
