Cobh Pirates got back on the winning trail again on Sunday with a good 23-6 win over Crosshaven in the Munster Junior League. Early on RuairI Geary got in for a try which was converted by his brother Eoin.
Pirates were unfortunate not to add to their try tally in the first half. They were over the line three times but were held up twice and knocked on the third time. In injury time both teams exchanged penalties to leave the score 10-7 to Pirates at half-time. On the resumption Crosshaven added another penalty before Eoin Geary added another for Pirates. In the last 15 minutes
Pirates played some wonderful running, passing rugby and got the reward when Tom Rice beat four Crosshaven players to touch down in the corner. Gathering a ball off a line out Jason Anglim beat several tackles to add another try. it was a great result for such a young team.
