This year, on St Stephens day, the club will hold the inaugural “Chairman’s Bed Pan Trophy”. This tournament will be ran within the rules of tag rugby, and will incorporate teams that consist of u19s, Junior 1s, Junior 2s, ladies and “players of years gone by”. Each team will consist of at least 2 players from each of the above categories, with 8 players on the playing field for each team at any one time.(2 players from each category on the field at any one time) Games will be a total of 16 minutes, 8 minutes each half.
A “round robbing” will take place to decide the finalists. Play will commence at 1.15 pm, all players are asked to be present in the club for 1 pm. Most importantly all proceeds from the day will, similar to previous years, go to Cobh Hospital. All players are welcome to come along on the day and join in the fun, all for a worthy cause.
