Cobh Golf Club reports a special Hole-in-One! It was scored by one of the most committed and also most experienced members of the Club. Johnny O’Connor, in his 81st year (!), celebrated it in the Senior’s Open competition on Thursday, 23 June, 2011, at the 195 Yard, Par 3, Index 4, 6th hole. Johnny used a 3-Wood. He and his playing partners Tom Fleming and Willie Glanville could hardly believe it when the ball went straight into the hole. Johnny was glad he did not have to put. Rumours have it, that he also won 50 cents from his team mates on this hole…
A second Hole-in-one in June 2011 was scored on 11 June by Larry O’Toole, also on the 6th Hole!
