Cobh Pirates travelled to Musgrave Park last Sunday, where they played Dolphin RFC at u7,8,9,10,11 age grades. The games were the curtain raiser for the All Ireland League Division 1 league game between Dolphin v Young Munster. For many, this was their first time running out on the Musgrave Pitch, so, the excitement was building as they entered the ground. The games were keenly contested at all age grades and great fun was had by all in splendid sunshine.
Our mini section was not the only interest from Cobh on the day, as Niall Walley, a long time servant of Cobh Pirates, is playing senior rugby with Dolphin, among the likes of Munster contracted players, James Coughlan and Danny Barnes. The mini section are at home this weekend…. Playing Highfield in the Paddocks at 10am on Saturday 2nd. The other big game for this weekend…is the u19 Cup semi-final; Muskerry v Cobh Pirates, at Ballyanley, KO 12noon.
