Cobh Tidy Towns Notes 13th March

Published

The miserable weather on Saturday morning dampened the mood for outdoor work this week, but the Fota Road was cleaned very early and some cleaning was done in Whitepoint.

Tidy Towns volunteers were very active in helping with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade bag packing fundraiser in Super Valu over three days, many of the white seats around the town have now been transformed into red ones and the painting of flower box brackets was also completed indoors.

On a negative note on Thursday evening at approximately 6.10pm a “gentleman” was observed dumping bags of refuse into the lake at the Swan Feeding area in Cuskinny. Unfortunately we haven’t got the entire registration of his red 03 van but the picture of the man himself and his female companion is quite clear. If anyone knows a van matching this description please send us an email to cobhtidytowns@gmail.com of the Registration number and we will forward it to the Gardai for further investigation. The Gardai are now regularly patrolling this area so dumpers beware.
