Breaking The Silence has received a very generous donation of €2,000 from Eli Lilly, Dunderrow, Kinsale, Co. Cork.  The Group were humbled when Eli Lilly staff member Gertie O’Shea approached them about the possibility of a donation following Gertie’s completion of ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills) Training with Breaking The Silence last November.  On Friday 11th February Eli Lilly presented €2,000 to Breaking The Silence in addition to making numerous other donations to local and national charities on the day.  John Mansworth, Chairperson of Breaking The Silence, sincerely thanked Eli Lilly for their generosity and outlined that the Group and Eli Lilly are essentially working to the same objective, saving more lives. Eli Lilly products treat depression, schizophrenia, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, diabetes, osteoporosis and many other conditions.  Their Irish plant is based in Dunderrow, Kinsale, Co. Cork.

Breaking The Silence is a Cobh based voluntary that helps to create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting the person at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources.  The Group has already been in a position to run one ASIST course this week using the Eli Lilly donation and another ASIST will be ran shortly, again using this funding.
