The new section of Cobh Pirates are all set to kick off the season. The ladies will commence their competitive games with a home fixture to Waterford City on Sunday 27th February (time to be confirmed). The ladies have been in training now since before Christmas for this their maiden season. They are drawn from all sport and non sport backgrounds and have embraced the cold, wet and rainy weather that is associated with rugby in Ireland. Coached by Bill Dillane, Kate McCarthy and Jason Anglim the girls are all set to make history in competing in the Munster Ladies development league.
The remaining fixtures for the league are as follows;
Away to Kinsale Sunday 13th March
Away to Fermoy Sunday 20th March
Home to Abbyfeale Sunday 27th March

Cobh Pirates got another recent boost with Mark o Halloran sponsoring two sets of jerseys for our youths. The club currently have 4 juveniles with the Munster cadets, Liam Devin Buckley, Stephen Hickey, Shane Cullimore and Adam Devlin, and we wish them all the best in their endeavors. With the juvenile section going from strength to strength in the club, numbers now in excess off 300 children, it is with great pride that the club is able to promote ladies rugby, in a competitive league, for the first time.
